My Fave Films of the Decade 2000-2010

I've been working on my list. It has been a DAYAM good ten years of film. Really good stuff. One of the best decades in the history of film I would argue. I'm sure I've missed a few here that I forgot. I also left off some huge ones that I thought were crap or haven't seen yet (like The Hurt Locker or My Winnipeg). C'mon Aaron, Lord of the Rings trilogy! Are you sure? Other than that I like that list, and yes, the 2000's do appear to be a good decade for film. Glad to see Ghost World and Bad Santa on the list but am bemused by your fondness for British comedy - Borat maybe, but Hot Fuzz? No thanks. Films I would add would be 'Waltz With Bashir', my favourite film of the past few years - if only because it took me utterly by surprise. I would also add Paulo Sorrentino's 3 films - The Consequences of Love, The Family Friend & Il Divo. And I would also recommend 2 Irish films, 'Adam & Paul' & 'Garage', both by Lenny Abrahamson. And finally have you really left out 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' - surely the most under-rated film of the last 5 years.

stllsman, my good man...

I wasn't that into the LOTR trilogy... but I did see all three and thought they were pretty amazing technical feats. I was pretty entertained by them.

Yeah, I like my Simon Pegg. Hott Fuzz was good times, but was certainly no Shaun of the Dead.

I know you rave about The Assasination of Jesse James... but I thought it was super pretentious and while I love quiet, poetic films, it just bored me. It was no Terrence Mallick film... I'll see it again and report back to you.

I haven't seen your other ones yet. I'll hit them up soon.
